PAPAGHO: Widows Initiative

At GAFIN charitable Foundation, we are aware of the challenges and neglects widows and the aged faced in rural communities. Our focus is also towards providing essential assistance to widows and old women in dire need. We seek to address the various challenges faced by this vulnerable population by extending critical financial support, healthcare support and awareness, and other vital services. The primary objective of GAFIN is to ensure that widows have access to fundamental resources and tools necessary for their overall well-being.

Widows often experience significant social and economic marginalisation and stigma, which could lead to long-term poverty and destitution. By directing its efforts towards addressing the unique needs of this population, GAFIN aims to empower them through the provision of tailored solutions that meet their specific requirements. Additionally, this organisation also recognises the importance of addressing the underlying structural issues leading to widowhood in various communities. Hence, it collaborates with relevant stakeholders such as government agencies and civil society organisations, community leaders, various religious organisations and the populace in advancing policies aimed at eradicating the root causes of stigma attached to widowhood.
